KWCUSA is considering the expanding of our Adult Division National Finals (currently hosted by Miss Marcella) to include exhibitors in a full Karaoke Convention/Exhibition.

If there is found to be an interest on the part of audio and karaoke gear manufacturers, CDg makers, vocal coaches, clubs, resorts, DJ's, KJ's or others, KWCUSA will proceed with the planning and book the exhibitors and venue.

A larger venue certainly will be needed in the coming years. To facilitate this, KWCUSA is planning on increasing the scope of our Nationals to include a karaoke convention and exhibition in the coming years.

If you are interested in participating as an exhibitor in May of 2005, or 2006, please contact Miss Marcella. The total number of singers eligible to enter nationals in 2005 could be as high as 72 (as we intend to allow both Hawwaii and Alaska to enter directly due to the greater then normal expense of travel in attending a regional finals.) 72 singers would certainly extend the time required into a two day event? A special page will be posted (in june?) for exhibitors, ...outlining our options, thoughts, and eventually pricing for exhibition space.

Our goal would be to rent a large facility (such as the nearby Tacoma Dome for about $15,000 per day.) This Karaoke Convention incorporation may help our contestants in numerous ways begining with increased exposure, thus greater participation by their local hosts. We are now exploring the many priceing options of venues much smaller than the Tacoma dome in hopes of putting this all together for May of 2005. If you are interested at the $1000 level contact us immediatly as we anticipate this to be our standard initial price to large exhibitors. The early number of interested vendors will determine our choise of venues. Then, in turn, our choise of venue (size) will determine how many total exhibitors may participate. We are not selling space yet, but as with our selecting of hosts, it will be done on a first come first serve basis to encourage vendors to respond now and reserve their place in line. Audio and Karaoke Equipment and CDg Manufactures are especially encouraged to call us now. Like all good ventures, this will grow if we tend it, and it seems reasonable to encourage our regional and state hosts to do likewise. It will also drop the age limit down to 16 as intended, ...at least for nationals.

And what we learn at the national level, we will pass on to regional and state hosts. Regional and state karaoke conventions as well as local karaoke conventions seem a logical extension to the KWCUSA contest events. Inviting the widest possible group of people related to karaoke or our KWCUSA contest could help everyone.

The interaction between people and companies, ...the new friends made on the conventon floor, ...the increase in trade to local merchants, all combine into a sound reason for everyone to participate.

We believe this will encourage Airlines, and Hotels, and Restaurants, to offer discounts or sponsorships for our finalists, contestants, audience members, exhibitors and more.

Contact us if you or your company would like to participate. Our first date under consideration is for the USA Nationals in May 2005. We may not be able to handle a large number of exhibitors during our first year, so this will be done on a first come first served basis. Our initial target is a local 1000 seat performing arts center with 3 adjoining lobbies.

Many avenues of advertising exist within both the contest and the convention. Companies may request that their brochures, postcards, or flyers be given out to those attending or included in any information packages.

For the singers, we expect this will provide a bigger audience with better media coverage.

KWCUSA events can grow into conventions in a step by step process, as it is possible to for any sponsor to participate in any KWCUSA host's event by contacting them directly.

On the national level, our first sponsorship help came from Fresh Flower Card

Carol (of Fresh Flower Card) contacted us early on and offered to give our winner a flower card (worth $30.00.) I asked her if she would make it two awards as we have two top finalists, and she said yes, and will also be awarding this (2004) year's finalists another flower card. She has been invited to attend the finals and make the presentation in person. ...And so it starts, or has already begun... the inclusion of sponsors, merchants and vendors in events will be adding interest and variety even in the smaller clubs and venues.

Washington state's top two finalists were awarded 4 hours recording time with Linder Productions

Randy Linder produces a quality three song demo in his project studio in the four hours or the four hours may be used as desired by the singer. Everyone has been delighted with this!

Eric Turnbow (E.T.'s), of course, provides our web space and the audio gear as a sponsor.

Southwest Airlines should also be mentioned as I am told they will be assisting everyone with discount tickets through the good work of Mr. Steve Pennington.

American Airlines had also been contacted (by myself looking for ticket sponsorship for the trip to Finland.) There may need to be some negotiations before this is all settled as major sponsors may prefer an exclusive agreement or extensive co-branding. By simply naming American Airlines as our official airline, a 5% discount on tickets will be immedialtly realized for everyone, however, Mr. Steve may have already cemented another deal with Southwest Airlines, ...and KWCUSA works as a team, so Mr. Steve will recieve our support and thanks. (This paragraph dated Sunday, May 09, 2004.)

As an incentive, any airline helping us (with free or discounted tickets) will be freely invited to exhibit in our karaoke convention without charge. We will also distribute their printed materials with our own and include their logo and words on our forms, posters, flyers and web site.

Jon Sinclair also sponsors an award of his complete training program for the full voice to our USA finalists. This double CD includes:- "A live vocal lesson" plus a "Complete vocal training program" with Hollywood's"Top Vocal Coach", British Vocal Consultant "Jon Dunmore Sinclair". And a live (or internet) vocal consultation.

Those wishing to be included as exhibitors should contact us at once. A fee of $1000 is to be considered aproximate for a standard large display area (perhaps a booth, or lobby, or an area of about 100 sq. ft.) It may be possible to double or triple this standard priced area for those who require more room.

We will try to make smaller exhibit areas available too. There are many small vendors of karaoke related products who would bring exitement and variety to the show just by their presence. For some, it may be necessary to swap some exhibit space for co-branding of their materials. We will try to make room and find a way for everyone.

This year we have hired a local videographer to document the KWCUSA Nationals, to add to our usual still photography.
